On this page

The Short Version

  • Local Processing: Creating and editing a highlight reel happens entirely on your device. We do not receive, store, or view your video clips, photos, music selections, or drafts unless you explicitly publish a public Player Page.
  • No Accounts Required: You do not need to create an account to use the Cutup app.
  • Public Player Pages: If you subscribe to a Player Page, we store the content you upload and the finished reel you publish to display them publicly at your page's URL.
  • No Data Selling or Ads: We do not sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or display ads in the app or on Player Pages.

Cutup is operated by Zuke Technologies LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy covers the Cutup iOS application and the website at cutupsports.com, including Player Pages. Zuke Technologies' overall company privacy policy is available at https://www.zuketechnologies.com/privacy-policy/ and covers our other products and services; where terms differ for Cutup, this policy applies.

The Cutup Mobile App

  • Data Stored on Your Device: The clips, photos, titles, athlete details, and exported videos you work with remain on your device. We have no access to them.
  • iCloud Synchronization: If your device is signed in to iCloud, Cutup saves your reels, imported media, and saved athlete profiles to your personal, private iCloud storage so your work syncs across your devices. This data is managed by Apple under your Apple Account. It does not pass through or store on our servers. You can toggle or delete iCloud sync anytime in Cutup's Settings.
  • Photo Library Access: Cutup requests permission to access your photo library solely to allow you to select media for reels and save exported videos. No photos or videos are uploaded to our servers during editing.
  • Music Library: The built-in music library operates entirely locally on your device. Browsing, previewing, and attaching audio tracks generates no server logs or data collection on our end.
  • Purchases: In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store. Apple verifies your entitlements with the app; we do not receive or store your credit card details, billing address, real name, or email address from Apple purchase transactions.
  • Analytics and Tracking: The Cutup app contains no advertising, third-party tracking frameworks, or behavioral analytics software. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.

Player Pages (Optional Subscription)

A Player Page is a public web page for an athlete (e.g., cutupsports.com/athletes/your-name). If you subscribe to host a Player Page, we collect and process:

  • Page Content: Athlete name, team name, graduation year, position, jersey number, physical measurements (height/weight), city, state, custom links, team logo/photo, layout choices, and published highlight reels with preview images.
  • Optional Email Address: If provided, your email is used to verify your address and send weekly view summaries. You can unsubscribe or remove your email address at any time inside the app.
  • Subscription Identifiers: An anonymous transaction identifier provided by Apple and a randomly generated app ID. These allow us to link your subscription status to your specific Player Page without collecting your personal identity.

Public Visibility: All content published to a Player Page is publicly accessible to anyone with the link. Search engine indexing is disabled by default and can only be enabled if you explicitly toggle it on in the app settings. Your email address and internal subscription IDs are never displayed publicly.

Page Visitors: We collect aggregate, non-identifying metrics (daily view counts, video play counts, and basic HTTP referrer sources such as "Instagram" or "X") to show page owners performance stats. We do not use cookies or create visitor tracking profiles. Standard server security logs capture visitor IP addresses briefly for infrastructure defense and operational integrity.

How We Use Information

We use the minimal information collected solely to:

  • Host, render, and deliver your public Player Page and highlight reel.
  • Display view statistics to you and send weekly performance updates (if opted in).
  • Manage page publication status based on active subscription state.
  • Maintain network security, prevent abuse, and provide customer support when you reach out to us.

Information Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties, nor do we share data for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose data only to:

  • Infrastructure Providers: Third-party vendors who provide essential service infrastructure, including Amazon Web Services (cloud hosting, storage, and transactional email delivery) and Apple (payment processing). These providers process data strictly on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations.
  • The Public: Information you choose to publish on a Player Page is accessible on the public internet.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of our users and the public.

Data Retention and Deletion

  • Active Subscriptions: Your Player Page remains online for the duration of your active subscription.
  • Subscription Expiration: If a subscription lapses, your page is taken offline immediately. We retain the page configuration and media for 60 days so you can restore your page upon resubscribing. After 60 days, all page content, video files, metrics, and linked email addresses are permanently deleted from our primary database.
  • Immediate Manual Deletion: You can delete your Player Page and all associated data immediately at any time within the app (Player Page > Page settings > Delete page and data).
  • Backups and Logs: Residual encrypted backup copies clear completely within 30 days of primary deletion. Server security logs are automatically purged after 90 days.

Your Rights and Choices

Regardless of where you reside, we honor the following privacy rights for all users:

  • Right to Access / Know: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your Player Page.
  • Right to Deletion: You may delete your Player Page content directly in the app or request full account deletion.
  • Right to Correction: You can edit or update any athlete information on your Player Page directly within the app at any time.
  • Right to Opt-Out: You can opt out of search engine indexing or email communications at any time.

To exercise any of these rights outside the app, contact us using the details below. We do not discriminate against users for exercising their privacy rights.

Children and Teen Privacy

Cutup is designed for student athletes and their families.

  • Athletes Under 13: Cutup does not permit children under the age of 13 to create an account or set up a Player Page directly. If an athlete is under 13, a parent or legal guardian must create, manage, and authorize the Player Page on their behalf. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information directly to us without parental consent, please contact us immediately so we can remove the data.
  • Athletes Aged 13–17: Minor athletes between 13 and 17 may create a Player Page with parental guidance. We strongly advise against posting personal home addresses, personal phone numbers, or direct private contact information on public pages. We encourage using school, club, or coach contact details instead. Parents or legal guardians may contact us at any time to request the modification or removal of a page created for their minor child.

Data Security

Information transmitted between the app, web visitors, and our infrastructure is encrypted using standard Transport Layer Security (TLS). Data at rest is encrypted using industry-standard cloud storage protocols. While no system can guarantee absolute security, in the event of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document and notify you through an in-app notice or via email prior to the changes taking effect.
